Alain Arsenault
Alain Arsenault Partner Attorney

In 1982, as a member of the Ligue des droits et libertés, he played a key role in the Inquiry into allegations of racial discrimination in Montreal’s taxi industry. He also campaigned for the abolition of the statute of limitations for sexual assault, which was repealed in 2019. Since then, class actions against religious institutions have provided victims with a means to regain their dignity and have their stories legitimized. Virginie Dufresne-Lemire
Virginie Dufresne-Lemire Partner Attorney

Before being admitted to the bar in 2014, she earned bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Law. In addition to representing her clients in civil lawsuits and other legal actions (such as coroner’s inquiries, etc.), she is actively involved in simplifying complex legal issues through the media. She strives to make the judicial system more accessible and understandable for her clients and the general public, while raising awareness of often overlooked issues. She is a member of the Ligue des droits et libertés.

Justin Wee
Justin Wee Partner Attorney

Admitted to the Bar in 2016, Mr. Wee initially practiced in criminal law. Today, his practice focuses on defending victims of abuse of power, handling cases that have allowed him to argue before all courts in Quebec. He has also delivered several lectures on confidentiality in the context of sexual violence. Since 2018, he sits on the board of directors of CRIPHASE, an organization that supports men who are victims of sexual assault.

Jérôme Aucoin
Jérôme Aucoin Lawyer

Before becoming a lawyer in 2023, Mr. Aucoin was a law student and intern at our firm. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Law from UQAM, and a Master’s degree in Political Thought from the University of Ottawa. He volunteered on a suicide prevention center’s hotline in the past.

Allison Jayne Bender
Allison Jayne Bender Law student

Allison Jayne Bender has recently completed her law degree at McGill University. Before pursuing law, she completed a double Bachelor’s degree in Music and Political Science at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo. Outside of work, she is actively involved with the McGill Legal Information Clinic.

Giovanni Borgia Legal assistant

Holder of a Master’s degree in Business Law from Université Lumière Lyon 2 and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from HEC Montreal, Mr. Borgias also completed a Certificate in Legal Updates at the University of Montreal and a training program at the Montreal Bar School.

Nathalie Desjardins
Nathalie Desjardins Paralegal

Nathalie Desjardins holds an AEC in Legal Techniques from CDI College. She has been part of our team since 2018, where she primarily specializes in class action cases, while also providing valuable support to the partners in the administrative and organizational management of the firm.

Antoine Duranleau-Hendrickx
Antoine Duranleau-Hendrickx Lawyer

Mr. Duranleau-Hendrickx was admitted to the bar in 2021, after completing his internship at the Human Rights and Youth Rights Commission. He dedicates his practice to class action cases. Outside of his practice, Mr. Duranleau Hendrickx serves as a board member for the Conjugal Assistance Service and is one of the founding members of the organization Droit Animalier Québec.

Ms. Gravel graduated with a diploma in Legal Techniques in 2019. It was during her college studies that she discovered her passion for law, leading her to pursue a Certificate in Social and Labor Law as well as a short program in indigenous studies at UQAM. She is currently continuing her law studies toward a Bachelor’s degree.

Yaël Hochet
Yaël Hochet Legal assistant

Mr. Hochet recently completed a dual degree in Liberties Law, combining a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Quebec Law from Université Laval and a Master’s degree in French Law from Université Toulouse Capitole. He previously obtained a Master’s degree in International and European Law from Université Toulouse Capitole, following an academic exchange at UQAM. Audrey Labrecque
Audrey Labrecque Lawyer

Ms. Labrecque was admitted to the bar in 2023. She joined our team as a law student, before completing her bar internship as a judicial assistant to a Federal Court judge in 2023. Before pursuing law, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from McGill University, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Gender, Sexuality, Feminist Studies, and Social Justice.

Ms. Yalda Machouf-Khadir began her academic journey with a certificate in social and labor law at UQAM, before completing her Bachelor’s in Law. Admitted to the bar in 2019, she shifted the focus of her practice in 2022 to concentrate on civil cases at our Law Firm. In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Machouf-Khadir is actively involved in her Iranian community through various cultural and political projects.

Ms. Malenfant joined our law firm as a law student before completing her bar internship. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Law, as well as a Law degree from UQAM, she has been a member of the Bar since 2023. In addition to the firm’s areas of practice, Ms. Malenfant brings her expertise to non-profit organizations (NPOs). Outside of her practice, Me Malenfant has been involved with the International Human Rights Clinic at UQAM and is committed to projects aimed at protecting human rights.

Imane Melab
Imane Melab Lawyer

A member of the Bar since 2021, Ms. Melab holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from UQAM, where she was awarded the Juanita Westmorland Traoré Scholarship for her volunteer work promoting social justice for disadvantaged and racialized communities. She is currently in the process of completing her Juris Doctor in Common Law at the University of Montreal. In addition to the firm’s areas of practice, she has gained solid experience in administrative and employment law, having worked with the CNESST during her studies. Outside of her work, Ms. Melab is involved with high schools and non-profit organizations (NPOs), offering workshops and lectures on various areas of law to share her legal expertise and promote access to justice.

Admitted to the Bar in 2023, Ms. Monty first earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Feminist Studies from McGill University. She then continued her studies at the University of Montreal, where she obtained a law degree. She joined the firm to complete her Bar internship and has been part of our team ever since.

Lyn Mouhajer Law student

Lyn joined the ADW team as a law student. As part of her studies, she is actively involved in defending the rights of tenants and victims of criminal acts. Additionally, she presides over the Access to Justice Committee at her law faculty.

M’Mah Nora Touré
M’Mah Nora Touré Lawyer

Admitted to the Bar in 2021, Me Touré holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor – North American Common Law program. In 2019, she completed her first internship with the Canadian Bar Association before joining ADW for her Bar internship. Outside of her practice, Me Touré is actively involved with the Ligue des Droits et Libertés and serves as a volunteer lawyer at the Clinique Juridique de Saint-Michel.
